Step 1. Navigate to FTX.us

  • Log in to your account

Step 2: Go to your API settings.

  • Hover over the top right menu and click "API"

Step 3: Create an API key

  • On the "API" screen scroll to the bottom until you see the "Create API Key" button.
  • If you want to be able to trade within Coygo you'll use the "Create API Key" button.
  • If you only want to be able to track your portfolio (wallets) and see trading history, you can use the "Create Read-Only API Key" button.

Your new "API key" and "API  secret" will be shown. Write these down somewhere temporarily, as the API Secret will never be shown again. You will need to enter this into Coygo Terminal.

Step 4: Name your API key

  • After you close the pop up with your "New API Key" you will be back on the "API" settings page. Here you can give your new API key a name, we recommend setting it to "Coygo".

Step 5: Configure IP Whitelisting for security

  1. For security reasons we recommend restricting this API key to your IP address. That way, even if a hacker stole your API keys they wouldn't be able to access your account because their machine would be on a different IP addraess. While you're still on the "API" settings page, click the edit button on the "Permissions" column.
  2. Enter your IP address in the "IP Address" field at the bottom, and then click "WHITELIST IP". If you don't know your IP address you can search "what's my IP" in Google and it will tell you.

Step 6. Configure your API key restrictions

You can configure a few different restrictions for this API key in the same window you enabled IP whitelisting. If you'd like to be able to transfer/withdraw funds within Coygo Terminal you can check "Withdrawals enabled", but this means if anyone ever gains access to your API key (and IP address if IP whitelisting is enabled) they will be able to withdraw your money. It's up to you if you think the convenience of being able to transfer within Coygo Terminal is worth that risk.

If you don't want to trade within Coygo and only track your portfolio and trade/transfer history then you can enable "Read-only". If you want to be able to trade within Coygo then do not enable "Read-only".

Step 7: Enter the exchange information in Coygo Terminal

Go to the "Exchanges" screen in the Coygo Terminal app and click the "FTX.US" logo.

When prompted for your API key and secret, enter the credentials that you were given by FTX.US in Step 3. Then enter your Coygo password and click "Submit". If the API credentials are valid, it will be stored on your machine. Now you can view your FTX.US portfolio, submit/manage orders to FTX.US, run trading bots on FTX.US, and a lot more!
