Step 1: Go to your KuCoin API settings page

Log in to your account, then click your account initials in the top right, and in the expanded menu click "API Management"

Step 2: Enable security settings if necessary

If you haven't set the proper security settings on your account, KuCoin may ask you to change your security settings to increase your account safety. If that's the case, please follow the instructions for each required security setting until the green checkmark appears.

Once you've updated your settings navigate back to the "API Management" screen like you did in Step 1.

Step 3: Create an API key

On the "API Management" screen, click "Create API".

Set up API Key and record API Passphrase

After clicking the "Create API" button a new window will appear to allow you to create your new API key. See the screenshot below for an example.

Here you'll need to enter an "API Name". This can be anything but we recommend using "Coygo" to keep it simple.

Then you can create an "API Passphrase", this is a unique password that you make to further increase your account's security. This can be anything you want it to be, but make sure to record it somewhere secure since you'll need to enter it into Coygo Terminal later.

Then in the API Restrictions section you can decide which permissions to give your API key. This decides what Coygo Terminal can do with your KuCoin account. If you want Coygo Terminal to be able to trade with your KuCoin account make sure Trade is checked/enabled.

Finally, in the IP Restriction section you can restrict the API key to only work if used from a certain machine's unique IP address. We always recommend enabling this and restricting your API key to your current IP address for improved security.

Complete security verification

After clicking the continue button you'll need to complete security verification. Depending on your account's security settings you may need to verify with phone, email, Google Authenticator, your "trading password", or a combination of them.

Step 4: Record your new API credentials

With your new API key created, you will be shown your Key (API Key) and a "Secret" (API Secret) that has been created for your. Make sure to record these somewhere because you will need to enter this into Coygo Terminal to connect your KuCoin account. You won't be shown the Secret again after leaving this page.

Step 5: Enter into Coygo Terminal

In the Coygo application, navigate to the "Exchanges" screen, click the KuCoin logo, and follow the on-screen instructions to enter your KuCoin API Key, API Secret and API Passphrase that you recorded from earlier.
